George Wyrick Appointed as Saline County Justice of the Peace for District 12

Saline County, AR-Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has appointed George Wyrick as Justice of the Peace for District 12. The District 12 position has been vacant since November of 2023 when Justice of the Peace J.R. Walters retired. 

Governor Sanders made the appointment yesterday and this afternoon J.P George Wyrick was sworn in by Saline County Judge Matt Brumley. 

"I am looking forward to serving with J.P Wyrick and welcoming him at our next Quorum Court Meeting," said Saline County Judge Matt Brumley.

J.P Wyrick has lived in the Shannon Hills area for the majority of his life. He was born in Little Rock and attended the Pulaski County Special School District. He attended Henderson State University as a scholarship athlete, but left to help take care of the family business "Esquire Marble" after his dad passed away. He spent over 50 years in the marble business before retiring. 

J.P Wyrick has been married to his wife Lana for 45 years, and together they have two daughters Leah & Elizabeth. 

"I look forward to serving as Justice of the Peace for District 12. I've always been interested in politics after learning from my dad who served as a Justice of the Peace and as a School Board Member. I want to help the county best I can, even though I will only be here for a short time," said Justice of the Peace George Wyrick.

J.P Wyrick's first meeting as Saline County Justice of the Peace will be next Tuesday, February 20 at 6pm for the February meeting of the Saline County Quorum Court. 

J.P Wyrick will serve as Justice of the Peace for District 12 through the end of 2024. A new J.P. will be elected during the 2024 General Election and will start serving on January 1, 2025.
