Our goal is to serve all Veterans and their families; recognizing the value of Veterans to Arkansas. Saline Co. Veterans office strives to be an advocate and resource responsive to the changing needs of Veterans and their families in attaining the highest quality of life. We assist in the preparation and submission of claims for benefits to which veterans and their families are entitled, and to serve as their principal advocate on any issues that may arise.

Veteran's Getting Assistance Closer to Home
 
2nd Thursday of the month 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Woodlands Auditorium; Ponce de Leon Room. This is the second year Saline and Garland Co Veteran Service Officers (VSO) will continue to come to HSV to assist veterans in the community. Beautiful Hot Springs Village is one of the most densely populated area of veterans in all of Arkansas. It is the goal of Katie Davis (Saline Co. VSO) and Stanley Bee (Garland Co. VSO) to be an advocate to HSV veterans and their families in attaining the highest quality of life. We educate veterans on the benefits they could be entitled to, including: discounted licenses plates, healthcare, information and assistance in the preparation and submission of claims for benefits for veterans and their families, and to serve as their principal advocate on any issues that may arise.  In order to be more easily accessible, the Saline and Garland Co. VSO will travel to HSV once a month to assist veterans. Please bring discharge paperwork (DD214). The date has changed to the 2nd Thursday of the month from January to November and then on December 7. Applying for VA Benefits & Eligibility Requirements:

What to bring to appointment: 

  • Award letters/decision letters from VA on previously filed claims
  • DD- 214 or equivalent discharge papers
  • Marriage License
  • Birth Certificates of dependent children (under 18 or in school)
  • Divorce Decrees for veteran and/or spouse
  • Social Security numbers for all in household
  • Bank Account and Routing Number
  • Death certificate (if Surviving spouse/dependents are filing claim)

If filing Compensation claim for Service Connected Disability:

  • Military Medical Records (in-service)
  • Civilian Medical Records (Relevant, supportive documents)

We do ALL paperwork and guide you through the process!
